Get magnetic north from MPU9250


Is it possible to get the orientation of the ROSbot relative to the magnetic north?
The /mpu9250 topic gives the orientation based on the initial position.

Unfortunately it’s not possible. Four motors with permanent magnets and closed aluminum housing makes reading the right value from the magnetometer very inaccurate. That’s why we don’t using magnetometer in ROSbot at all.

You can connect external magnetometer using hExt connector from rear panel and situate it somewhere on the outside of the case.
