OS flash user PC Board: LENOVO P360 not working

I am migrating Panther to ROS2 and i am trying to flas the OS on the LENOVO P360.

I followed the instructions from Initial Setup Guide | Husarion and flashed a USB with Etcher.

I ve conected a HDMI cable and keyboard on the LENOVO P360 that currently is having ubuntu20.04 with ros noetic. However, i can’t get the enter BIOS or UEFI settings by pressing exc, f2 nor f12. I ve tryied to set up the boot loader menu but still i can’t get the LENOVO P360 to boot from USB.

How can i force this ?

Hello @Milan_Groshev,
From what I see on the Lenovo website F1 / F2, or Fn+F1 /F2 should start the BIOS.
If the drive has fast boot enabled, it may skip the button checks. In this case, I would also check:

  • whether GRUB doesn’t have an option to boot the BIOS.
  • I would execute the systemctl reboot --firmware-setup command from Ubuntu.

Thanks for the replay.

The problem is that when connecting a HDMI cable to the Lenovo, i can’t see the grub nor the boot screen. Its black.

Actually i can see that the grub is shown, because the PC will not boot… only when i press enter on the keyboard the PC boots from Hard Disk.

The boot problem is related to the secure boot in the bios. I tryed on other PC, my USB is working once you disable secure boot in the bios. However i can’t enter in the BIOS.

It supper wiered because the black screen is only for the BIOS/grub menu. Then when i press enter on the black screen i can see the logs of the PC booting from hard disk. Once is booted the screen is black again and i can shh to the PC.

I can’t suggest anything further. If the problem persists, please try Lenovo support.

One more thing. @radeknh suggest that the BIOS is visible only when the device is connected via Display Port, not via HDMI.

OK solved. The Lenovo P360 comes with integrated GPU so in order to access the boot screen I needed to connect a mini DP cable that goes directly to the GPU
