Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on a mod for the Husarian Panthers at my university, and I think it might be a game-changer for anyone tired of dealing with fiddly electronics access.
The mod makes it super easy to plug in electronics and monitor status lights—all without unscrewing those 18 screws (yes, I counted!). Better yet, it keeps the weatherproofing intact.
Here’s what I did:
- Used 1/8" clear polycarbonate so you can see the status lights through the panel.
- Added cutouts for cable glands and XT60 sockets to make connections a breeze.
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Have any of you done similar mods or have ideas for improving this design? Let’s collaborate and make these robots even better.
If you’d like to laser cut your own or modify the CAD, see the SVG and STEP files.

Thank you so much! Would you guys consider having easy port access on the lid for future Panthers?
I appreciate the hinge design for the payload to access the lid easily. So modular!
We have such option available - it is called DEV01. It’s Cover with IP31 access panel / cable passthrough. It’s water and ingres resistance depends very heavily on cables diameter and their spacing, which is reason behind such conservative IP rating.
Here you can read more about it.
As for Panther modularity - it’s a must for good development platform
