Hi,
just to report that for Panther (v1.2), when preparing a new SD card for the built in computer, flashing the new SD card with balenaEtcher shows an error during the verification phase. I had the issue with:
- husarion-ugv-rpi-ubuntu-24.04-v2.2.1b.img
- husarion-ugv-rpi-ubuntu-24.04-v2.2.1.img
The issue was happening under Linux (Ubuntu 24.04) and under Windows (Windows 11) as shown below:
I had to use Rufus (version 4.7) to flash the SD card without any error being reported.
Could you confirm:
- which img is recommended / should be used to set up the latest stable instal for Panther built in computer? The link in the documentation at this stage points to husarion-ugv-rpi-ubuntu-24.04-v2.2.1b.img
- if there is any specific aspect on the SD card to take into account (my SD cards were class 10, I tried 32Gb and 64Gb size)?
Thank you very much,
Nicolas
Hello @Nico2025,
The error you sent is unusual and I am unable to open it. I am very sorry, but since rufus flashed it correctly, it does not suggest a problem with the image.
- Have you tried reinstalling the ether balena?
As for your questions.
- We recommend using the latest image versions. As of today, it is 2.2.1b
- The card should not affect the image upload, or at least I do not know how a different memory could cause the error.
If I manage to find out anything more, I will let you know.
Regards
Hello @RafalGorecki,
Thanks for your answer. I tried Balena Etcher on both Ubuntu 24.04 and Windows 11, with the same effect. I tried to re-installed Balena Etcher on Ubuntu with the same result, ie still showing the issue during the verification phase.
Just though I would report it in case people would have observed the same thing.
Rufus went through the entire flashing process without showing an error.
Regards,
Nicolas
