Hello Husarion Community,
I am having issues with my ROSbot XL where the Ethernet ports on the digital board have stopped working. This started suddenly during normal operation, and I suspect it might be a hardware or boot failure on the digital board. I’d appreciate any advice on further debugging or resolution steps.
My Problem
- I was connected via SSH over the ethernet
- the SSH session closed abruptly
- since then, both ethernet ports on the digital board are unresponsive
- the Raspberry pi itself boots normally and is accessible via its own ethernet port or wifi
Symptoms
- LEDs:
- LED1: briefly blinks green once on power-up, then turns off permanently
- LED2: always off
- USB hub on digital board: all ports have power and work fine
- no access to microros topics or STM32
System Details
- RosbotXL autonomy package
- OS: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (Noble Numbat)
- ROS Distro: ROS 2 Jazzy
- SBC: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B
Steps I Tried
- Power and connections:
- verified voltages with multimeter: 5V/3.3V rails on digital board OK, but no activity on Ethernet
- checked and changed ethernet cable from Pi to digital board, no issue with cables
- tested USB ports: they all work and receive power
- reboots and resets:
- multiple reboots: LED1 blinks briefly but goes off
- pressed DB Reset button in digital board: no change in LEDs or ethernet.
- Firmware flashing with ~/flash_firmware.sh succeeded but with the issue still persisting
I’d appreciate any help and thanks in advance!
Best,
Emmi
